This was my first time making this appetizer dip, but I can promise you it won't be my last! This dip packs all the flavor and I couldn't get enough. So the base is simply cream cheese, grated onion, and minced garlic, but the topping is where it's at. The flavors of brown sugar, spicy mustard, and Worcestershire sauce are going to make your taste buds do the happy dance. Trust me, y'all. And then the crunch of those toasted pecans makes this experience a chef's kiss. Ooooh! So good! So, if you're looking for an easy appetizer to serve at your next gathering or party just read on below for the full recipe. Let me know what you think of this one in the comments!
French Quarter Cheese Dip
Total Time: 20 Minutes
What You'll Need:
1 block of cream cheese, softened (8 ounces)
1 tbsp. grated onion
1 clove minced garlic
1/4 cup butter, cubed
1/4 cup packed dark brown sugar
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. spicy brown mustard
1 cup finely chopped pecans, toasted
Any kind of crackers you like!
What to do:
In a small bowl, combine the cream cheese, garlic, and onion. Spread onto a small plate, cover, and refrigerate so it can firm up while you prepare the topping.
In a small saucepan, combine the butter, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard. Cook and stir over medium heat until the brown sugar melts completely.
Toast your pecans in a small pan over medium heat until you can smell them.
Remove the sauce from the heat, add your toasted pecans, and stir to coat. Let it sit to cool for just a bit.
When you're ready to serve, spoon the sauce over the cheese mixture. Serve with any kind of crackers you like. My favorite is Ritz crackers!
Now sit back and watch everyone devour this dip!
