Eeek! I made a delicious pizza dough, y'all! I'm sharing the recipe here so you can make your own pizza dough at home, too. I think you'll love this one!

Here's What You'll Need:

  • 1 Tbsp. of shortening (Crisco)

  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. of Cornmeal

  • 1 packet of active yeast

  • 1 2/3 cup of warm water

  • 2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour

  • 3/4 cup of dry milk powder

  • 2 Tbsp. of sugar

  • 1/4 tsp. of salt

  • 1 1/2 tsp. of oil

Here's What You'll Do:

  1. Start by pre-heating your oven to 475 degrees. Then, use the shortening to grease a baking sheet. I love these baking sheets from Amazon!

  2. Sprinkle the cornmeal evenly on the pan and set it aside.

  3. Then, pour the warm water and packet of yeast into the bowl of a stand mixer. Be careful that your water is not too hot or it will kill the yeast. Add the water 1/2 Tbsp. of sugar from the 2 Tbsp. you have measured out. Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes. You're looking for the yeast to activate and you'll know it's ready when it is foamy on top.

  4. Into the mixing bowl, add the flour, remaining sugar, dry milk, salt, and oil. Mix on medium speed for about 10 minutes.

  5. The dough should be pourable and lumpy.

  6. Pour the dough onto the baking sheet and spread it to the edges using a spatula. It'll be sticky.

  7. Then allow the dough to rest for about 20 minutes or so on the counter. Once it has rested, put the dough into the oven and bake it for 10 minutes.

  8. Remove the dough from the oven and add all the sauce and toppings you'd like! *Optional- Just before you add the toppings, brush the edges with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic and/or Italian seasoning. You can even add some grated parmesan cheese!

  9. Now, put your pizza back in the oven and bake it for another 10 minutes or so until the cheese is melted.

  10. Once it is ready, enjoy it and give yourself a pat on the back for making your own pizza dough from scratch! Woo hoo!

Also, my favorite cheese grater is from Amazon! It makes grating your own mozzarella cheese a breeze! You can grab one here!
