"Delicious and Easy: The Ultimate Banana Bread Recipe You Need to Try"

Have you ever tried to make banana bread and it came out dry or maybe you've tasted it and it just wasn't everything you'd hoped it would be? Perhaps you've always wanted to learn to make this sweet bread, but you didn't know where to begin because the internet is flooded with various recipes and variations. Take it from me- I've tried many of them and this is the ultimate banana bread recipe I've found. It's so easy to make and the bread comes out moist and delicious every time. I've even made this banana bread with a glaze and cinnamon sugar topping, which takes it over the top!

I'm sharing this recipe with you because I want you to know how to make banana bread at home. It's perfect for a weekend breakfast, weeknight dessert, or anytime. I like to enjoy it with a little bit of butter melted in and a cup of coffee. And as an added benefit, your house will smell amazing!

What You'll Need:

  • About 3 ripe bananas, medium size (and by ripe, I mean really ripe! Did you know that the darker the banana, the sweeter it is? I let my bananas ripen on the countertop until the peels are very dark. That's how you'll know they're ready!)

  • 1/2 cup of mayonnaise

  • 1 egg, room temperature

  • 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp of baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp of salt

  • 3/4 cup of sugar

  • 1/2 cup of pecans, chopped (optional)

What You'll Do:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and line a loaf pan with parchment paper or spray it with nonstick spray and set it aside. I use these loaf pans and LOVE them! (affiliate link)

In a medium bowl, mix the mashed bananas, mayonnaise, and egg until combined.

In another bowl, mix your dry ingredients (flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and pecans)

Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and stir well just until the batter is combined.

The batter will be thick and lumpy. Be sure not to over-mix!

Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for about 60-70 minutes until cooked through.

Remove the pan from the oven and place the banana bread on a wire rack to cool completely before slicing...if you can wait that long!

Serve with some butter and enjoy!

To make muffins:

Divide the batter into a 12-count muffin pan with liners. Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes or just until a toothpick comes out clean. Be careful not to overbake!
